Celebrating 75 years
Founded in 1942, Corinthian Doors has grown from humble beginnings as a family business located in the inner-city suburb of St Peters in Sydney, to Australia’s largest and most respected timber door manufacturer.
Internationally recognised, Corinthian Doors has earned a reputation for innovation, quality, and service which is reflected in its recent win, taking out the Dahlsens Supplier of the Year – Runner Up award for 2018.
The Corinthian Doors success story
Today, Corinthian Doors is part of the international group, JELD-WEN, with manufacturing facilities and showrooms across Australia. Its largest manufacturing site remains in Sydney – a 4.5 hectare facility located in the suburb of St Marys.
Cameron Allen, General Manager at Corinthian Doors, Victoria, largely attributes the sustained success of Corinthian Doors to the loyal and hardworking employees.
“We have been privileged by the support of many long-term employees, some with tenures of 25 to 30 or 40 years of service,” says Cameron.
Quality control: a superior product
“Corinthian Doors prides itself on its ability to enhance the beauty and functionality of a space via quality designed door solutions,” explains Cameron.
An achievement underscored by the team at Corinthian Doors’ in-depth industry knowledge, unique understanding of aesthetics, timber qualities, innovation practice and environmental concerns.
“Corinthian Doors has remained steadfast in its commitment to maintaining full control of the systems and processes at every stage of production,” says Cameron.
The impact of supplier relationships
Strong business relationships play an important role in the success of Corinthian Doors explains Cameron: “When you take the time to cultivate business relationships it is increasingly possible to improve processes and streamline the supply chain,” says Cameron. “A practice that can improve the bottom line of any business, especially in construction.”
Early Innovators
Fast to adopt honeycomb core in the ‘early days’, Corinthian Doors capitalised on the light-weight material designed to minimise product costings for the builder, the amount of timber required to produce a door and create a user-friendly product without compromising on aesthetics or quality.
