ACT based Trussme truss and frame joins the Dahlsens Family
In early October 2023, Dahlsens officially merged with Trussme, a well-established truss and frame plant based in Canberra. Trussme was founded in 1994 by Bernie Wilson, Don Horsley and Greg Sutton to meet the growing demand for high-quality truss and frame solutions. Over the years, they have become a trusted supplier to numerous architectural home builders, renovators and extension builders in the Canberra area.
What sets Trussme apart is not just their expertise but also their family-oriented culture. Many of their team members have worked together for most of their careers, creating a tight-knit group that values camaraderie and teamwork. While Bernie’s sad passing last year brought some uncertainty, we want to assure you that Dahlsens is committed to preserving Trussme’s culture and delivering the exceptional service the local industry have come to expect.
Don, Greg and Jeff, key figures in Trussme’s success, will remain with the team as long as they are needed. Michelle, Graham, and Dave, experienced leaders within Trussme, will continue in their current roles. This, along with the dedication of the existing Trussme team, ensures that the transition will be as smooth as possible.
Dahlsens is excited to learn more about the ACT market, building on our recent acquisitions of trade stores Fyshwick Building Supplies and Mitchell Builders Supplies earlier this year. Plans are underway to revamp the Fyshwick site to offer a broader range of building materials that cater to both new home builders and our existing customers. Trussme customers will also have the convenience of using a single trading account for all their building needs.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Bernie, Don, Greg and Jeff for entrusting Dahlsens with their business and team. We are committed to upholding their legacy and further strengthening what they’ve built over two decades.
Deniliquin Mitre 10 Joins Dahlsens
In addition to the merger with Trussme, we are excited to announce that your local Deniliquin Mitre 10 is soon to become a part of the Dahlsens family. Dahlsens and Mitre 10 are two trusted names in the hardware industry, and this partnership will create an even more comprehensive hardware store for the Riverina community.
Alan Braybon, co-owner of Deniliquin Mitre 10 (now retired), and Katrina Knuckey, the continuing manager, have chosen Dahlsens to lead their business into the future. For over 30 years, Dahlsens has been serving the Deniliquin community with top-quality products and personalised service from our trade store in Barham Road. With the addition of the Hardinge Street site in November 2023, we are taking our commitment to the region to new heights.
We thank Alan and Katrina for this opportunity and commit to doing our best to honour and strengthen what they have started.
